Scunthorpe Referee’s Association is delighted that two of our match officials have been recognised in The FA’s mid-season referee promotions.
Louis Stamp will now referee on Step 3 and 4 Leagues in addition to becoming an Assistant Referee on Step 2 games (National League North and South).
It is the reward for consistent performances over the past 12 months, which has seen him reach the pinnacle of his respective merit list at Step 5 and 6 each comprising around 100 referees.
Michael Brader, Lincolnshire FA Referee Development Manager, said: “Louis has always displayed commitment and hard work in his refereeing career and is now really reaping the rewards. He made a conscious decision ahead of this season to place greater emphasis on enjoying his games, removing where possible the outside influences that can bring with it additional pressures, proving a positive mental preparation is just as important in producing strong performances as the fitness levels the game demands.
“Pleasingly, we now have more referees at this level than ever before and credit must go to the volunteer workforce who are out every week mentoring, coaching and observing match officials across Lincolnshire.”
Meanwhile Will Norriss has been promoted to Level 4 following a strong start to the season and will now be eligible to referee Northern Counties East Premier Division and Division One games, as well as be an assistant referee on the Northern Premier League. He will also be officiating on the equivalent leagues where he is for university.
