RA Meeting: September 3rd, 2020

The Scunthorpe RA members met via ZOOM for their latest meeting on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020, ahead of the commencement of the 2020-21 season.

MEMBERSHIP

• On-line banking now activated, and many members already paid subscriptions using this method.
• Membership – 31, (24 full and 7 juniors)

• Sunday League
  • New season starting Sun 27^th Sept with 4 divisions.
    • 3 pitches at Co-op and 2 at WCL. No dressing room use, and clubs are putting up and taking down their own nets (getting a 20% pitch fee reduction)
    • Last season’s cup finals will not take place.
    • Handbooks are now ready for distribution.

  • New season starts on Sat 12^th September
• NCEL
  • New season starts on Sat 19^th September
• County FA
  • County Cup appointments likely to be second week in October

NOTEWORTHY APPOINTMENTS:

• Daz Bright – FA Cup last night – Bottesford v Selsden
• Jez Hyke – FA Youth Cup U-19
• Mark Wordsworth, Will Norriss and Shem Own – Womens FA Cup on Sunday at App-Frod

EVENTS

• Refs footy match – U25’s v O25’s – still to be arranged or cancelled until end of next season – TBA
• RA dinner – it was decided that this year’s dinner is to be cancelled. It was thought that with current restrictions (table service only and no disco, plus no awards presentation) it would take the gloss off the event as a whole and not be the enjoyable event we aim to make it. We will press ahead with plans for the end of next season instead.

• AGM 2020
  • It was agreed that the AGM for this year would be cancelled and all elected Officers would continue in post until the AGM in June 2021.
  • There were no items raised that needed an official AGM meeting.

Footnote: For those that weren’t aware, we are saddened to announce that we lost our friend and colleague Pat Wyatt recently. The SRA was represented at his funeral, held last Friday, and our condolences and best wishes were passed onto Cheryl and their family.
