The Scunthorpe Referee’s Association is committed to the mentoring of all member officials who require it and have put into place a brand new mentoring scheme for the 2020-21.
The new mentoring scheme has been devised by three current Level Four officials, alongside Chairman of the SRA, Rob Atkin, and form a Mentoring Scheme Committee.
Once this scheme is completely off the ground, the aim is to introduce more mentors to the scheme to make it a long and successful operation.
The Mentoring Committee

James Moody
Started Refereeing: 2014
Current Level: Four
Memorable Game Officiated: Too many to list but I’ll go with Brigg Town CIC 4-2 Nostell MW (my first NCEL middle)
Best Refereeing Experiences: Being an assistant referee for Scunthorpe United’s games on pre-season tour in Austria, and fourth official in their pre-season matches, as well as all the cup ties and finals I’ve been appointed to.
James took the course in July 2014 and has officiated in almost 400 games since, ranging from the Jack Kalson Junior League through to NCEL, with games in the EFL Youth Alliance, Lincolnshire League, Lincolnshire Intermediate Football League, the FA Vase, the FA Youth Cup and other competitions in between, bringing a wealth of experience to the table.
He entered the promotion scheme in 2017 as a Level Seven official and has enjoyed three successive promotions through to Level Four, with his first campaign at that level coming in 2020-21.

Robbie Hall
Started Refereeing: 2014
Current Level: Four
Memorable Game Officiated: England U15s 3-6 Turkey U15s and Skegness Town 3-1 Glasshoughton Welfare (my first NCEL game)
Best Refereeing Experiences: The Premier League tournament I officiated in at the end of the 2018-19 season as I was able to referee the youth teams of the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Leicester City, Everton, as well as international guests such as PSV Eindhoven, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
Robbie took the course in October 2014 and began in the Jack Kalson Junior League before making the step-up to Open Age football soon after. Since then he’s also been on the FA’s CORE programme and gained a lot of experience and development from PGMOL Select Group One official Kevin Friend.
Like James, he also entered the promotion scheme in 2017 as a Level Seven official and has enjoyed three successive promotions through to Level Four, with his first campaign at that level coming in 2020-21.

Ethan Nundy
Started Refereeing: 2014
Current Level: Four
Memorable Game Officiated: My FA Vase game between Horncastle and Sherwood Colliery where the millionaire owner of the away side arrived by helicopter.
Best Refereeing Experiences: Refereeing at the England U16 training camp against various opponents.
Completing our Mentoring Committee is Ethan, who also took the course in July 2014. Ethan was also selected to be on the FA’s CORE programme and has also represented the Lincolnshire FA in Portugal at Referee Abroad’s IBER Cup in Estoril.
Like James and Robbie, Ethan also entered the promotion scheme ahead of the 2017-18 as a Level Seven official and has enjoyed three successive promotions through to Level Four, with his first campaign at that level coming in 2020-21.
