We continue our feature looking at the members of the Scunthorpe Referee’s Association and their career as a match official.
The latest featured Scunthorpe Referee’s Association member is Amy Barber, who is one of the associations twelve Level Four officials.
On the horizon is a decade in refereeing, which began from being asked to run the line and then middle her local Under-12s team, which she was involved in.
Over eight years on from starting out, Amy is now at Level Four and has had some significant appointments in both the male and female pathways of the game. When speaking about her targets going forward, she said: “My targets and aspirations are really to keep active and fit enough to continue refereeing.
“My main goal is to become a Women’s UEFA Referee and a referee internationally. If that happens, I sure will be winning in life!”
